ASTER GDS provides the following types of information on the ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage that will be shown on another window.
  • ASTER Information
  • User Registration/Modification Service
  • Product Search Service
  • Product Processing and Distribution Service
  • General Programming Request (GPR) Service
  • Data Acquisition Request Service
Some of the services may be utilized by non-registered users, while some require User Registration. (Please refer to "User Registration" as to how to register with ASTER GDS.)
Subcategories and available information for each service are described in the following table. Detailed instruction on how to utilize the ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage will be given by clicking the "HELP" button. The HELP Information will be shown in another window.
ASTER Information
ASTER Information provides the following items of ASTER GDS related information.
EDS Completion Information List of EDSs of which observation data have been acquired and data production is completed.
Product Map A coverage map is provided in bitmap indicating the areas which ASTER has acquired the data over.
Orbit Projection A map of orbit projection of TERRA.
User Registration/Modification Service This service helps a user to register with ASTER GDS, and modify or cancel the user registration information. Users who wish to receive the Product Processing and Distribution Service are required User Registration. Fixed forms are available either on the ASTER-GDS Homepage or at ASTER GDS User Service. You can also change your Password or other registration information via this service.
Product Search Service This service enables a user to make a search for ASTER Data Products archived in ASTER GDS. This service can be utilized to check the availability of products, or to confirm the data contents of each product by checking the Browse Data, Coverage Map and so on.
This service is open to non-registered users.
Product Processing and Distribution Service This service enables a user to search for ASTER Data Product(s) and to request delivery of them.
It also enables a user to request for processing of the original data to a higher level that the user desires.
This service is only available for ASTER GDS registered Users.
General Programming Request (GPR) Service GPR is a service that users can submit observation requests, and to obtain high quality observation data at low price.
This service is only available for ASTER GDS registered Users.
Data Acquisition Request Service This service enables a user to acquire ASTER observation data under the user's specific conditions of time, region, and environment. (Non-registered users and General Users are not given the privilege.)
You can request an acquisition by generating a Data Acquisition Request (DAR). GDS will implement the user's DAR to ASTER observation schedule, and will process the data when acquired. However, delivery of the product(s) to the requester is not automated. You need to generate a Data Production Request (DPR) using the Product Processing and Distribution Service, or you can request "DPR Link" at the time of generating your DAR. Please carefully read "Directions for the use of ASTER Data in advance".
