Mail Notification Service

[Overview]

Mail Notification service is designed to send a user a notification e-mail when a L1A product with parameters designated by the user at the time of registration is retrieved.
The system performs regular product searches in ASTER GDS database every day, and when it detects a product meeting the user's search conditions, it will notify the user by e-mail. The system also enables the user to submit a product order for the product notified in the e-mail.

[Registration of Search Conditions]

Register your search conditions for the subscription service using Web screens. A user can register 10 (parameter value) search conditions at maximum.

(1)	Specify either of the following URL to display the "Search Condition Registration" screen (Fig.1) for subscription service.

(2)	Enter user information and search conditions. A user can register 10 (parameter value) search conditions at maximum. Note that you cannot register a new search condition having the same title as an existing condition.

	Table 1 below shows the details of input items.

Latitude	SNN.NN.NN -89.59.59 to +89.59.59	"+" is the north latitude and "-" is the south latitude.
Longitude	SNNN.NN.NN -179.59.59 to +179.59.59	"-" is the western longitude and "+" is the eastern longitude.

*If you want to know the latitude and longitude (degree/minute/second) of the target area, you can display the latitude and longitude of the mouse position on the map using the map display applet of ASTER GDS WWW IMS at the following URL, for example.

When your input is completed, click "Submit Registration" button.

(iv) A dialog box (Fig.2) indicating the entered information will appear. Confirm the information and click "OK" button.
If you click "CANCEL" button, you can return to the input screen.

If you click "OK" button on the dialogue box, the system will check your input values. You will receive an error message in any of the following cases. In such a case, please confirm the input information and try again.

	When there is an error in your input values; A message "The input value is invalid. Click the "Back" button on your browser to return to the input screen and correct the information." will appear. Return to the "Search Condition Registration" screen (Fig. 3-3, 4) and correct the input information.

	When the number of registered search conditions is already the "Maximum Number of Search Conditions per User" (Default: 10), a subscription service parameter; A message "Search conditions of the maximum number are already registered." will appear. Delete unnecessary conditions, and try again.

	When a search condition of the same title is already registered; A message "The title is already used in a registered condition. Click "Back" on your browser and correct the title on the input screen." will appear. Return to the "Search Condition Registration" screen (Fig. 3-3, 4) and change the title.

If there is no problem in the input information, the search condition will be added/registered and the screen below will be displayed. In order to continue search condition registration, click "Back" button, and to exit from search condition input, click "Close" button.

[Display and deletion of a search condition]

By simply inputting your e-mail address, you can display all the search conditions you have entered on the "Registered Information" screen (Fig.1) in the form of a list. You can select a condition from the list to delete it, or you can add a new condition on this screen.

1. Loading the "Registered Information" screen

(1)	Specify either of the following URLs to display the "User Specification" screen, and enter your user name and registered e-mail address.

	Fig. 4 below is a screen image of the English version of the "User Specification" screen.

(2)	If you click "Submit" button, the "Registered Information" screen will be displayed, and you can confirm the search conditions already registered.

	If you enter an e-mail address not registered, a message "Unregistered e-mail address." will appear. Please check the address.

(3)	If you click "Close" button, you can close the screen without specifying your e-mail address.

2. Operational procedures for the "Registered Information" screen

(1)	If you click "Submit" button on the "User Specification" screen (Fig. 4), the "Registration Information" screen for the e-mail address entered will be displayed.

	Fig. 5 below is a screen image of the English version of the "Registered Information" screen.

	Table 2 shows the details of the display items on the screen.

(2)	Enter the [No] of the search condition to delete in the [No.] box in the lower left corner of the screen, and click "One deletion" button. A dialogue box will appear asking for your confirmation. If you click "OK" button in the box, you can delete the search condition of the specified line from the registered information.

(3)	If you click "Deletion of all" button, a dialogue box will appear asking for your confirmation. If you click "OK" button in the box, you can delete all the search conditions registered under your user name that are displayed on the screen.

(4)	If you click "Additional registration" button, the "Search Condition Registration" screen (Fig. 1) will be displayed where you can add a new search condition.

(5)	If you click "Close" button, you can close and exit from the "Registered Information" screen(Fig. 5).

[Notification E-mail]

The system sends a notification e-mail to the user as to every granule that is detected by an ASTER automatic search and meet the user's subscription service search condition. The e-mail message contains a browse image (file) acquired by the automatic search and the URL for the "Fast Product Order" screen. If you click the URL and display the screen, you will find the VNIR image and the brief inventory information for the product provided on the screen.

The image attached to this e-mail is a browse image with a resolution greatly lower than the image product.

[Subscription Fast Order Function]

By specifying the URL for the "Fast Product Order" screen given in the notification e-mail, you can display the "Fast Product Order" screen containing the VNIR image and the brief inventory information for the notified product and submit the product order.

[Operational procedures for the "Fast Product Order" screen]

In order to specify Product Generation, please check the "Product Generation" check box, and select the "Target Product Type" from the list.

Check the "Selected for Order" check box and click "Submit Order" button, and you will jump to "ASTER Product Order / Media & Payment Method" screen (Fig. 7) and then to the "ASTER User Certification" screen(ERSDAC Website)(Fig. 8) whereby you can order the product.

a.	If you click "Submit Order" button on the right of the screen, "ASTER Product Order / Media & Payment Method" screen(Fig. 7) will be displayed where you can select distribution media type, data format, and method of payment.

	The options are: "CD-R" or "Download from online distribution site" for the distribution media type, "HDF" or "CEOS" for the data format, and "Cash" or "Credit card" for the payment method.

b.	For Requirements for ASTER Data Distribution, please click "Distribution Rule" button.

c.	When distribution media type and other settings are all completed, click "Submit" button. If you click this button, the "ASTER User Certification" screen (ERSDAC Website)(Fig. 8) will be displayed.

d.	Enter your ASTER log-in information (Log-in Name and Password), and click "Certification" button; your product order will be submitted.
