[Summary]
This service helps a user to request for delivery of basic data products and for generation of higher level products from basic products and delivery of them. Such requests are called "Data Production Requests". Please refer to the table below Interrelation between Base Products and Target Products", if you wish to obtain higher level products.
A requested data product will be delivered to the requester in distribution media. (Please note that CD-ROM is the standard media for distribution to General Users and Announcement of Research Opportunity Users.)
This service is only available for ASTER GDS registered users . (Please refer to User Registration Procedure to register with ASTER GDS.)
This service also enables you to confirm the status of Data Production Requests(s) that you have generated and/or to cancel it.
In order to receive Products Processing and Distribution Service, you are asked to agree to "Requirements for ASTER Data Distribution".

Users are requested to make payments upon receipt of the bill from ASTER GDS. Acknowledging the payment from the user, ASTER GDS will start generation of the requested product(s) and the delivery of the data to the user.

[Product Processing and Distribution Procedure]
You can request ASTER data product distribution by course of the following procedures.
(1) Click here to show ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage in another window. Detailed instruction on how to utilize IMS will appear by clicking the "HELP" button.
"Brief Manual for Requesting ASTER Products Distribution" describes the procedures operated on the IMS in order to obtain ASTER products. Please download the PDF file from here and print it out, in order to obtain the manual. Please complete the procedure (2) below before utilizing the manual.
(2) User Certification
You can perform a product search to check the availability of data products that you wish to obtain.
Product Search can be performed by both non-registered users and ASTER GDS registered users without being certified on the "User Certification" page of ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage. However, Production Request requires User Registration and User Certification.
If you have no means to use the On-line service, please follow procedures (3) and (4).If you are an ASTER GDS registered user possessing Log-in Name and Password, please go to ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage and perform User Certification.
Select "User Certification" from the Main Menu on ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage. Enter your Log-in Name and Password and click the "Certify" button. The Main Menu will return on the display.
(3) Finding products to purchase:
Select "DPR" from the Main Menu on ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage in order to find data products to order.
Select "DPR Search" from the DPR Menu. You can search products on this DPR Search page.
In order to find a product/products to order, please select "Inventory Search".
You need to fill in the fields indicated in bold. Please fill in all the items in bold without exception. After specifying the search conditions, please click "Search Exec". to start your retrieval. "Inventory Search Status" will be displayed while the retrieval is in process. (You can reset the search and start another search by clicking the "New Search" button or you can just abort the search by clicking the "Abort Search" button at any time during the retrieval.)
"DPR Inventory Search Result" page will show up indicating the search conditions at the top and the search result, a list of granule IDs that satisfy your search conditions, at the bottom.
Select one granule from the list and select "Inventory Information", "Coverage Map", "Browse Data", "Core Metadata" or "Specific Metadata" tag to find any information that you wish to confirm.

(4) Requesting product delivery:
There are two ways to receive ASTER Data Products; one is for users with their Log-in Names and Passwords and the other is for users without them.
Users with Log-in Names and Passwords
1. If you have your Log-in Name and Password by ASTER GDS and have performed "User Certification" on ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage, you can generate a Data Production Requests on the Web. Select one granule from the DPR Inventory Search Result and click "Select Granule" button and repeat this process until all granules that you wish to purchase are selected. Those granules will be indicated with "Yes" in the "Selected for Order" column on the list.
2. When all target granules are selected, click the "Product Order" button. You will then find a list of the selected granules only on the "Product Estimate/Order" page.
3. Select one granule from the list and click the "Media & Format & Payment Select" button. You can here specify the media type, data format and instrument of your interest for delivery.
Payment selection available if you were a General Users or Science Users.
4. Please specify Media Type, Data Format, and Delivery Sensor on the "Media & Format & Payment Select" page. Click "OK" to save your setting, and then the list of selected granules will return on the "Product Estimate/Order" page display.
5. If you do not find any products higher than L1A for the data you are interested in, you can request processing of the data to a higher level product. Please review the "Interrelation between Base Products and Target Products" table carefully, before you actually request data processing.
Select one granule from the list and click the "Condition Setting for Processing Request" button to specify the processing parameters.
6. Clicking the "Condition Setting for Processing Request" button, you will find the "Product Estimate/Order" screen showing the parameter settings. Select the processing level that you desire from "Target Product Type". When "Target Product Type" is specified, the "Distribution & Intermediate Products" box will indicate the product level for which parameter setting is required. Select the tag corresponding to the product level indicated in "Distribution & Intermediate Products". There you can specify all the parameters for the product level you have chosen, and save your setting by clicking "Set". "Parameter Set Status" column next to "Distribution & Intermediate Products" will show "Customized Set". Click "OK" to go back to the list of purchase products. 7. After setting the appropriate media & format & payment and PG parameters, click the "Estimated Price and Date"button on the "Product Estimate/Order" page. The "Estimated Price and Date" page will appear and inform you of the estimated price and the estimated delivery date for your order.
8. After setting the appropriate media & format & payment and PG parameters, click the "Submit DPR Request" button. A dialog box will appear prompting you to confirm, and then your order will be submitted to ASTER GDS. "Product Request Result" will be displayed to notify you that your order is accepted. The DPR ID (i.e. your order number) will be informed on this page.
Users without Log-in Name and Password
If you do not have your Log-in Name and Password, please download the "Application Form for ASTER Data Distribution" file below. Fill out the form with products (granule IDs) that you have found by generating a product search in procedure (3), and send the completed form to ASTER GDS either by post or fax. The GDS contact points are provided later on this page.

(5) Payment:
The quotation and the bill for products that you ordered in the Procedure (4) will be mailed to you from ERSDAC. Please make payments at the ERSDAC bank account indicated on the invoice. The price for products is uniformly JY9,800 per granule except for Ortho products. This includes media and shipping cost but tax. ASTER GDS will start data production when payment by the user is acknowledged.
If you ordered in the Procedure (4) by "credit card" (via  CoDen Payment, an EC liquidation service offered by NTT Communications Corporation), ASTER GDS will start data production when payment completed.
(6) Product delivery
ASTER GDS will send ordered products in physical media such as CD-ROM either by post or using other courier. You can check upon the status of your order before you actually receive your products. Unless it is too late, you can cancel your order. The procedures for both confirming and canceling your order will be described later on this page.

[Confirmation on the status of Product Processing and Distribution Request]
If you are an ASTER Data User provided with your Log-in Name and Password, you can confirm the status of processing and/or delivery of products you have ordered on the ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage by course of the following procedures.
1. Click here to show ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage in another window. Detailed instruction on how to utilize IMS will be given by clicking the "HELP" button.
2. Select "User Certification" from the Main Menu on ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage. Enter your Log-in Name and Password to perform User Certification. Then the Main Menu will return on the display.
3. Select "DPR" from the Main Menu. Select "DPR Status" from the DPR Menu.
4. The "DPR Summary Limit" page will show up. Specify the maximum number of orders that you would like to retrieve. 100 is the default value. Clicking the "OK" button, and then "DPR Status" will be shown providing a list of all the Data Production Requests that you have generated in the past.
5. Select a DPR ID from the list on the "DPR Status/Cancel" page. The processing and delivery status of the selected DPR can be confirmed by clicking "DPR Detailed Status" which shows the production/ delivery progress of each product included in the DPR.
6. For more details on the progress of your DPR, click "DPR Detailed Processing Status" button after selecting the specific DPR ID from the list on the "DPR Status/Cancel" page. The DPR Status will show the production/ delivery progress of each product included in the specific DPR.
7. You can also confirm the contents of your Data Production Requests on the "DPR Contents" page. Click the "DPR Contents" button after specifying a DPR ID with the cursor on the "DPR Status/Cancel" list.
[Cancellation of Product Processing and Distribution Request]
You can cancel your Data Production Requests using this service. Please remember that, in some cases, the processing progress might not allow your cancellation request to be accepted.
If you are an ASTER Data User provided with your Log-in Name and Password, you can cancel your processing/delivery request on ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage.
1. Click here to show ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage in another window. Detailed instruction on how to utilize IMS will be given by clicking the "HELP" button.
2. Select "User Certification" from the Main Menu on ASTER GDS-IMS Homepage. Enter your Log-in Name and Password to perform User Certification. Then the Main Menu will return on the display.
3. Select "DPR" from the Main Menu and select "DPR Status" from the DPR Menu.
4. The "DPR Summary Limit" page will show up. Specify the maximum number of orders that you would like to retrieve. 100 is the default value. Click the "OK" button, and then "DPR Status" will be shown providing a list of all the Data Production Requests that you have generated in the past.
5. Select a DPR ID that you would like to cancel from the DPR Status/Cancel list. Click "DPR Detailed Processing Status" to display the production and delivery progress by each product included in the Data Production Requests. You can select the DPR ID that you would like to cancel from the list, and select the product with the cursor that you would like to cancel. Click the "Cancel Request" button in order to cancel the product from your request.
6. You can cancel the whole request, all the products ordered in one DPR, by clicking "DPR Cancel" button after specifying the DPR ID that you would like to cancel on the "DPR Status/Cancel" page.
7. ASTER GDS will indicate "Successful" on the "DPR Cancel Response" page to notify you that your cancellation is accepted. Then, the product contained in the Data Production Requests or the Data Production Requests itself that you selected for cancellation will be deleted. Please remember that cancellation might not be accepted sometimes when processing/delivery procedure has proceeded too far.
8. If you click the "OK" button on the "DPR Cancel Response" page, This page is closed as the "DPR Detailed Processing Status" or "DPR Status/Cancel" page will return. You can confirm that the products or DPR that you cancelled is indicated with "Cancelled" in the DPR Status column.
*DPR States
The following summarizes the state of DPR and its meaning.
"Proposed"/"Booked" : ASTER GDS has accepted your DPR and is waiting for payment to be made.
"Not Booked" : Registration of your DPR to ASTER GDS was unsuccessful.
"Accepted" : ASTER GDS has received your payment and has started or is starting production.
"Completed" : ASTER GDS has completed production of data products requested by DPR.
"Rejected" : Your payment is acknowledged, but the production is halted under certain circumstances. Though it is not a likely case, the payment you have made will be suspended in trust at ASTER GDS in such case.
"Failed" : ASTER GDS failed to generate the product ordered by DPR. The payment will be suspended in trust at ASTER GDS.
"Cancelled" : DPR is cancelled by the requester.
